I haven't found this at all. In my experience when I help my students grow I grow a little too. Sometimes when I'm asking them deeper questions the answers that come out of them are such that never even occurred to me. Also, a good teacher knows to keep balance in their own life; you cannot be a mentor to others if your own life is dwindling, therefore it's important to take time to simply do you, whether that be working on your own personal projects or sitting at the beach and reading a book. A teacher who is spiritually, emotionally, socially and physically healthy will offer far more to their learners than one that is consuming themselves to do their job.
